How it works
How File & Serve Works
One connected workflow handles the service destination, travel calculation, documents, instructions, payment, attempts and proof record.
Connected workflow
From destination postal code to proof record
Select service and calculate travel
Choose the service option and enter the actual destination postal code. The existing calculator determines distance from the nearest File & Serve office and shows applicable travel.
Upload documents
Upload the final supported documents. The existing system verifies page count for printing and connects the files to the request.
Provide client, recipient and address details
Complete the contact information, service address, recipient identity, access instructions, file reference, and due date.
Review current pricing and pay
The operational request page displays selected service, printing, travel, add-ons, HST and the total before secure online card payment.
File & Serve reviews and dispatches
The assignment is reviewed for completeness, availability, location, timing and instructions. Acceptance does not guarantee successful service.
Receive updates and proof record
Attempts and outcomes are recorded. When the assignment is complete, File & Serve provides the applicable Service Confirmation / Proof of Service and any separately accepted affidavit support.
Find the right starting point
Service and city pages explain what to prepare
Use the service pages to understand the available administrative support and the service-area pages to identify local coverage. Every request then returns to the same File & Serve intake.
One connected record
Keep the assignment details together
- Destination postal code and travel
- Uploaded documents and page count
- Client, recipient and address information
- Service instructions and due date
- Current pricing, HST and payment
- Status and proof records when available
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I request service from a city page?
The city page links back to the existing request page. The operational record is created only through the current workflow.
Can I see status after submitting?
Use the current tracking or client portal features when access and a valid record have been issued.
Does a city or resource page change pricing?
No. The current request page, selected options, destination postal code and uploaded documents determine the amount shown before payment.
Does File & Serve provide legal advice during the process?
No. The service is limited to process serving, filing attendance when feasible, records, and related administrative support.

Ready to submit a service address and documents?
